Fruits which are beneficial and accessible since the creation of societies in ancient civilisations are in the center of the Sundaze ecosystem. HABITAT Sundaze is an habitat in which fruits are used as currency for entrance, where the fruits are served to all in an open space with dj performances interacting with young artists & vinyl, vintage shops and where urban-dwellers come together to socialise and relax while being entertained on Sundays. THE STORY Some of the most important factors affecting the accumulated cultural capital by society is the natural habitat in which we live and all the other we encounter during our daily life. During this process, culture evolves with the relationship between these factors and their impact on our lives. Fruits have also been deeply important in this process due to the benefits they carry and their amount of accessibility. Even though the most important attributes of fruits are perceived as their benefits and taste by the modern society, ancient people gave much more importance to them. Fruits were not only a source of nutrition, they also played an important role in every aspect of the socio-cultural life. Fruits have been perceived as easily accessible nutrition possibilities from nature by the hunter and gatherer societies of the past before they reached a stable lifestyle. They have also been idealised and used for religious purposes -thus once again proving to be an important component of the socio-cultural perspective. Old civilisations like Hittites, Greeks, Egyptians and Sumerians have spent a substantial amount of time in creating a cosmology based on the dualities between chaos and order; and fruits have become a part of this belief as a representation of order. Many elements we regard as ordinary in our modern life have been vitally important for ancient societies within their systems of art, belief and culture. Fruits have become identified as god’s gift to humanity while they carry an essential and symbolic role in the systems of belief created by the societies. The importance of fruits is perceived within the frames of an anthropological perspective with a natural link to the lifestyle of ancient civilisations.
